Counter-UAS and Electromagnetic Effects[EMP]
A directed high-power electromagnetic effect that disables the electronics of small unmanned aircraft.

- Sensor or manual
Overview
Jamming denies a link, and an aircraft that loses its link may simply continue on its last instruction. A directed electromagnetic pulse works on the electronics themselves, which ends the flight rather than interrupting the control of it.
The effector is aimed, so the energy goes where it is pointed and not across the whole area. It is offered as a tripod-mounted unit for a fixed position and as a vehicle installation, cued by the counter-UAS sensors or aimed manually.
System qualities
01 / 04
Ends the flight
The effect is on the aircraft's electronics, so it does not simply revert to an autonomous behaviour the way a jammed aircraft can.
02 / 04
Directed, not broadcast
Energy is concentrated in the direction it is aimed, which limits the effect on everything else nearby.
03 / 04
Cued by the sensors
The counter-UAS track can slew and cue the effector, or it can be aimed manually when that is faster.
04 / 04
Fixed or mobile
Tripod for a static position, vehicle installation for a position that moves.
