Overview
Useful language models are normally somebody else's service, which rules them out for material that cannot leave the building. This is the same capability on a single machine that never reaches the internet after its first boot.
One console loads documents and watches them being read and indexed, including scanned paper in English and Hindi. The other is an assistant that answers questions, drafts documents and builds files, and cites the page behind every answer so a claim can be checked. Access is compartmented, so a user only ever sees what they are cleared for.

Nothing leaves the box
After the first boot the machine has no route to the internet. Documents, questions and answers all stay on it.

Every answer names the document and page it came from. An uncited claim is visibly an uncited claim.

Scans and photographs are read by optical character recognition in English and Hindi, so an archive of paper becomes searchable.
